From the beginning, their responsiveness and speed were exceptional. Once we agreed on the project, they started just three business days after we signed the agreement, and the entire project was completed only six business days later. Given the amount of work involved, that turnaround was remarkable.
Our front yard required a significant overhaul. It had weeds and vines that had grown waist-high throughout the entire yard and had infiltrated the flower beds, bushes, and other landscaping. The Calo team cleared everything out, removed invasive plants and weeds from the flower beds, cleaned up and reshaped the beds, installed pine bark, and added large boulders along both sides of the driveway.
One of the biggest challenges was installing new Zoysia sod on a very steep portion of the property. Before laying the sod, the team had to substantially regrade the slope to make it less severe and create a surface where the sod could be properly installed. The transformation is incredible. The finished product exceeded our expectations, and we could not be happier with how everything turned out.
I have owned 13 different homes over the years and have dealt with more contractors than I can count. Calo Landscape is literally among the two best contractors I have ever worked with. That says a lot about the quality of their work, their professionalism, and the people Jovani Calo has assembled.
I especially want to recognize Jovani and his entire team—Manuel, Jimmy, Miguel, Marino, Francisco, Kevin, and Jorge. Everyone worked incredibly hard and clearly took pride in the finished product - and not only that, they were just really nice people to interact with.
A few people deserve special recognition. Manuel provided great project leadership overall. Jimmy did an outstanding job leading the crew on site and keeping such a substantial project moving efficiently. Kevin's attention to detail in the flower beds and around the bushes was exceptional. And Miguel went above and beyond, literally breaking down very large boulders by hand so they could fit perfectly together along the driveway. Jorge's skill operating the heavy equipment and precisely placing those boulders was equally impressive.
What stood out most was that this wasn't a crew simply trying to finish a job—they cared about how the finished product looked. The attention to detail was evident throughout the project.
The end result is amazing. Our front yard, landscaping, and driveway have been completely transformed, and the difference is dramatic.

Jovani and his team were easy to work with from start to finish. They communicated well, showed up when they said they would, kept the job site organized, and clearly cared about doing quality work instead of rushing through it. They also took the time to explain why they recommended certain plants and layout decisions, which made the whole process much less overwhelming. It made the whole process so wonderful, because we honestly did not have to monitor or follow up - it was a totally smooth hand off.
What impressed me most is that they didn't just make the yard look good—they thought through drainage, irrigation, lighting, and long-term maintenance so everything functions as well as it looks. We even had them come back to add irrigation to another area because we were so happy with the original project. They transformed our 1920 house to look like the perfect English garden.
